>> good morning it is 6:00 a.m., thursday, january 25. tam is off, nydia han joins us. >> we're following breaking news, a woman was hit outside the entrance of a hospital emergency room in delaware county. grab the hats and gloves this morning it's going to be a windy and chilly start with warmer air on the way. >> we're getting ready for the super bowl matchup between the eagles and the patriots is approving to be a hot ticket not just in philadelphia. >> reporter: i have three green dresses, i don't know which day to wear this on. >> reporter: i was in florida, we were at a beach club watching the game. i think the people next-door were sky it -- like, keep it down. some of you might see a flurry, i expect the clouds to break up to a degree and we'll see mostly

sunny skies. we slipped to 28 degrees in philadelphia. 25 in trenton. 35 in wilmington. 27 in trenton. 33 by the water in cape may. there's a wind that's blowing through the region starting to get blustery that's knocking down the windchills. feeling like 17 degrees in philadelphia. 13 in trenton. 15 in reading. allentown, reporting station having technical issues this morning you're probably not far off from that number in reading. 22 in millville. as we go through the day, things stay colder than we were yesterday. yesterday we got a high of 45. today i'm expecting a high of 39 degrees right about there at 3:00 p.m. you can see how the early clouds give way to a good deal of sunshine, it will be colder, it will be brisk. winds running ten 20 miles per hour. we could see wind gusts as high as 25. bundle up today.

milder air comes in in time for the weekend. >> reporter: our big accident is in delaware county on i-95 southbound. look at the number of emergency workers we have on the scene. the accident is involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle. about a half-hour ago it was blocking all lanes. we can see now traffic is getting by. they are blocking the right lane, ambulance and police on the scene. creating slow speeds on i-95 southbound in delaware county. this delay is longer than the last time i showed you from approaching the blue route to past the blue route where the accident blocks the right lane. at one point it was blocking all lanes. that's why there were slow speeds. over all no problems on the majors. temperatures are below freezing, there are a few morning accidents, be careful as you head out. no widespread issues. we're in delaware county, checking i-95, we can see right

here moving okay heading toward the accident scene you slow up toward the commodore barry bridge. route 42 we're watching traffic and penndot is going in and out through the area. now we're in black, but things are okay on on 42. >> a driver struck an 80-year-old woman in front of a delaware county emergency entrance at 1:00 a.m. the vehicle that hit the woman remained on the scene. pennsylvania state police are investigating and not released the victim's condition. a pizza delivery driver is set you mean on shot during an attempted robbery. it happened in the brewerytown section. trish hartman is at the central detectives to tell us the rest. good morning, trish. ,. >> reporter: good morning, matt, police say this was an attempted robbery that turned into a

shooting and police are looking for suspects and information. we found the victim at lazos for a reported shooting. the victim said he was making a deliver in the 1400 block of north hollywood street in brewerytown after 10:00 p.m., but told he had the wrong house when he knocked on the door. police say he went back to his car and approached by the suspects and shot in the hand. the victim was able to drive back to the pizza shop and police took him to hanheman university hospital for treatment. police say the suspects fled the scene empty handed. police say the victim is in stable condition. if you have any information contact philadelphia police. live at central detectives, trish hartman channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. philadelphia police have released surveillance video in the quadruple shooting that

injured two teen boys. a gunman opened fire from the passenger seat in this black sedan on ridge avenue. you can see the bystanders running for cover. a 52-year-old man and 22-year-old man and two 13-year-old boys were shot. police are trying to pin down who was the intended target. police are investigating the murder of a woman whose body was found inside her east falls apartment. police say it was her son who killed her and continued on as if nothing happened. she was killed on monday, and malachi white lived with her for days. the brutal murder happened inside the apartment at east falls along wissahickon avenue. police spent the night gathering information on the number of homeless in the community. the action cam was with a group overnight as they tallied the

homeless at suburban station in center city. volunteers fanned out in trenton. the number of people living on the streets or in shelter will be send to the federal government so it can better understand the scope of the rob in each state. apple is handing over control to its customers as part of its response to a controversial feature on older iphones. maribel aber is live at the nasdaq, good morning. >> there will be more animated emojis because we need those for iten. that feature will let you decide if you want to slow down the battery on older iphones. it was discovered that the company deliberate slowed batteries on older phones. looks like futures are

>> reporter: absolutely storm tracker 6 live double scan essentially dry. some of you out there may be looking at a flurry. that's it, looking outside, the airport camera shows a little bit of wiggle. that's an indication there's a bit of wind out there, we do have that this morning. you combine that with cold temperatures it's a morning to bundle up. a little bit chillier than yesterday. 28 in philadelphia. 25 in trenton. 31 wilmington. 27 in reading. 30 in millville. cape may one of the few spots that's above freezing, 33 degrees. satellite and radar shows you there's a little bit of cloud dover out there, although over south jersey clearing, generally speaking you'll see sunshine early, but more sunshine as these clouds evaporate later this morning we'll wind up with mostly sunny skies most of the way. susquehanna rivers are over the blanks thanks to the melting ice. the ice jam breaking up with the recent thaw. you can see how the extra water in the ice blocking up against

the bridges and pushing extra water into areas along the river. we have a couple of different flood watches in effect this one in lancaster going on with the lower is you say with a had sus. we have one near bushkill falls and easton on the eastern edge of north hampton county. on either side of the river look out for ice jam flooding right through this afternoon. we'll see if it is extended beyond that. in the lehigh valley, brisk and cold, 36. probably feeling like the upper 20s most of the day. at the shore, sunny and chilly, breezy, 38. in philadelphia, sunny, brisk and colder than yesterday when we hit a high of 45 and less wind. today, 39 degrees. with the strong blustery winds it will feel like the freezing mark and below that at the best of times today. 25 is the overnight low. clear skies and cold. the winds ease back a little bit running 5 to 10.

realize there is and accident there. it's causing a little bit of a problem there. the schuylkill expressway eastbound on-ramp from girard a new accident that just popped up. no police on the scene just yet. the car comes up and they realize you have to merge a little more quickly. be careful as you merge with the schuylkill expressway eastbound with that new accident. this was the accident prior to in delaware county, i-95 southbound an accident involving a tractor-trailer. all lanes were blocked. police just cleared the scene. look at the speeds, 9 miles per hour, 13 miles per hour. jammed i-95 southbound in delaware county approaching the blue route to past the blue route. the accident is cleared, traffic is getting by, but you're still jammed is in the area. in chester, delaware county we have a new accident on east 22nd street at chestnut. watch for that accident, as well. we've seen a handful of accidents. the roads are dry, but we have

behind the house who shot the deputy in the chest and ran away. police captured him a short time later. the search continues for two more suspects. we have a dramatic new video of a high speed police chase ending in a violent head on crash in arizona. the chase started outside of phoenix yesterday morning. police followed the suv for 60 miles before it sped through the intersection and smashed into another vehicle. officers arrested the 31-year-old driver. investigators say he has an extensive criminal record in multiple states. police in oregon are investigating after this video surfaced showing a cat riding on the hood of an suv. it happened in the parking lot of sandy monday night. the cat was attached with a leash to the windshield wiper. oregon law says people cannot put their dogs on the hood of a moving car, but cats are not protected. 6:17 a.m., today's fitness

ease traffic. it's doing just that. we're catching some slow speeds 20 miles per hour. we're jamming on i-95 18 miles per hour southbound near bridge street. we have an accident in chester delaware county, east 22nd street at chestnut street. we can see nearby traffic is moving better we had a big accident involving tractor-trailer on i-95 southbound near the blue route. 42 is looking busier than the last time we looked at this. this is northbound traffic coming up from dep ford and turnersville. elsewhere in new jersey, we have an accident involving a pedestrian, a pedestrian was struck in voorhees, camden county cooper road at busy route 73. this happened just a few minutes ago. breaking overnight, a woman suffered life threatening injuries in a crash on i-95 in

delaware. it happened in the southbound lanes near 4th street. the victim was driving a car with a male passenger she stopped and stepped outside and was struck by a vehicle. the driver stopped nearby. delaware state police are investigating. now to a developing story, armed robbers ambushed a pizza delivery man in the brewerytown section shooting him as he tried to get away. trish hartman live at central detectives with the full story. >> reporter: good morning, matt, detectives are looking for several suspects, police believe the victim was set up and the suspects attempted to rob him in the city's brewerytown section. police say it started at 10:10 p.m. when a 33-year-old pizza delivery man attempted to deliver a pizza in brewerytown. when he knocked on the door he

was told he had the wrong house. he went back to the car and approached by several suspects and shot in the hand while in his car. the victim managed to drive back to lazo's pizza at 26th and popular in fairmont. that's where where the police responded and took him to hanheman university hospital for treatment. >> reporter: the victim is said to be in stable condition. if you have neff information on this crime -- if you have any information on the crime you're asked to contact authorities, trish hartman channel 6 "action news." >> philadelphia police are investigating a home invasion in the city's olney section. four to five armed men barged into a house on second street yesterday afternoon. one may have been posing as a postle worker, the victim -- postal worker. the victim was not seriously hurt. a man is recovering after

shots were fired on chestnut street last night. a 24-year-old man was wounded in the wrist. a parked car was struck, as well. no arrests were made. a judge is dismiss dismissing several charges against bob menendez and his friend dr. mevment -- melgan. the judge said there is no evidence of quid pro quo for those campaign contributions. president trump will attend the economic forum in switzerland today. he commented on unfinished business in washington. he expressed optimism about reaching a bye -- a bipartisan agreement for the dacc program.

distance there. might start out with clouds, but we expect to are transition with mostly sunny skies. winds out of the north at 13 knocking the windchill down to 17. 28 degrees the current temperature in philadelphia. 31 in wilmington. 27 in reading, 25 in trenton. 30 in millville. the windchills in the low 20s and upper teens across the region, so bundle up. satellite and radar shows you the cloud cover still out there, but there are some breaks to the west. we are expecting a lot of this to evaporate as i mentioned. susquehanna river we're getting pictures from somebody running a drone near wilks-berre there's a lot of ice on the river because of the deep freeze we had earlier in the wintertime. now the thaw is breaking this up and we're looking at flood watches as a result of that.

here's a new one, delaware river bushkill falls through belvidere and easton pennsylvania on the eastern side of north hampton county. there's possible ice jam flooding on either side of the river, be careful on the roads there. ice breaking up, extra moisture in the ice is being injected into the river. we have ice piling up against bridge abutments and trees. that's good to keep in mind on the delaware up north. 28 degrees by 8:00 a.m. 35 by noon. high of 39 by 3:00 p.m. even then it will feel like 30, to 31 degrees with the blustery wind blowing. 36 in allentown. 37 in trenton. 40 in millville. 39 degrees is the high in cape may. tomorrow things get better. we have high pressure in control, close by that's going to knock the winds down with the southerly flow around the high and beneath the warm front you'll winds up with that a

>> reporter: the schuylkill expressway not bad at all. just a touch of volume. the accident is off to the side. there's only one vehicle left. earlier there was police and penndot. just one vehicle, not a big deal. the schuylkill expressway moving nicely eastbound past girard after a nightmare of a ride yesterday. you're doing better so far on the schuylkill expressway. we do have a new accident in hatfield township montgomery county. bethlehem pike at walnut street. west goshen township there's injuries ems at weston road. let's check the travel times through the area, as you head out on the your majors you're seeing the yellow traffic flow, starting to slow down. not a major jam just yet. i-95 26 minute ride. 25 minutes between the blue route and the vine. no problems on 42. i would say so far so good as far as the traffic is concerned.
